The Desura concept is also interesting.

As is the citing of the seemingly inevitable appearance of what I call the S.A.E. (that's Stupid Asshole Executive) who makes some arbitrary business decision that destroys the potential for stronger communities and player contribution. We've seen it in Warbirds, in Targetware, even to some degree in IL-2.
